PageRank™ is a technology created by Google to find out how to decide relevance for a website/page. This will have effect on how high up in a search result page your site will reach. PageRank™ can be compared to a voting system where each link from a external site back to your site is a vote. If the site that links to you has a high PageRank then the vote is more important than those from lower ranked pages.
